Homework is designed to provide practice on concepts covered in class. In general the assignments are consistent and familiar. Usually students recieve the Word Bank assignments on Friday. Sentences are due on the following Tuesday and the packet due on Thursday. Students should read a minimum of 120 pages per week and record this in their planners. Parents signatures are required daily for reading credit. Students need to earm a minimum of 3 blue ribbions per week in English on Study Island. Study Island is a great way to prepare for the STAR test, and review the grade level standards. It can be accessed from any computer with internet capabilities at www.studyisland.com. At times students may need to finish assignments that were not completed during class time, work on writing or extended projects, make corrections, or redo poorly done work. Since this varies from student to student they may not be reflected on the Homework Calendar. It is the student's responsibility to write these assignments in their planners. Students recieve a missing assignment report every Friday which needs to be signed and returned along with the work on Monday.
