SCHOOL SUPPLY LIST - August 2009
DO NOT BUY AN ASSIGNMENT BOOK OR AGENDA.
POCS has its own planner that we will ask you to purchase for $6.00 at the beginning of the year. It is used to record homework assignments by students and for communication between home and teachers. Daily checks with parent signature required during the first weeks of school and weekly once students and parents are familiar with the routine.
NO STICKY OR STRETCHY BOOK COVERS FOR TEXTBOOKS
We use paper bags for better protection.
The following are not allowed at school:
• NO Permanent markers, including Sharpies
• NO Liquid white-out

-1 1-1½” binder -Binder paper – college ruled, 1500-2000 sheets -Graph paper – ¼ grid, 250 sheets -pencil pouch -tab dividers -6-8 packages of #2 pencils -Pencil cap erasers -Large eraser -10-12 blue or black pens -erasable is a good idea! -10-12 red pens |
-Colored pencils -3 Composition books (hard, black cove -3 70-page notebooks, 8 1/2 x 11, college ruled, Single subject, spiral bound or perforated -Calculator - basic -1 centimeter and inch ruler -3”x3” post-it notes – 300 notes total -2 yellow hi-liters -200 3x5 index cards -1 gb USB flash stick |
Home Use:
- PENCILS and PENCIL SHARPENER
- Electric or battery
- MORE Binder paper – college ruled
- College Dictionary
- Colored pencils, pens and markers, highlighters
- Glue stick, scissors, erasers, tape,
dry line whiteout, hole punch
- Ruler, Compass, protractor
- 4x6 index cards or additional 3x5 cards
- Report covers or pocket portfolios with center prongs
- Colored construction paper, poster board
- Stapler and staples
- If your child prefers mechanical pencils, be sure to buy lots of lead and erasers!
